Chalon – May 11, 2013

Ed from Our Town Records and Filmworks contacted me about Chalon, a jazz vocalist he had under his label that needed head shots and possible cover photo for her CD.  I gladly took on this somewhat different genre of photography as I had been shooting engagements/weddings non-stop for the past 4 months.

Met Chalon and her mom and dad @ El Cortez.  It’s always great when family is behind you in your endeavors and it was clear hers were.  LOL, her dad did quickly disappear upon shaking my hand, but that’s understandable….at weddings, I have grooms at times begging me to end the after ceremony photos but I can’t because it’s the bride who’s in command that day!  We started outdoors and as usual (I don’t normally tell this to new models) but first outfits and first sets are just really warm-ups but Chalon looked great in a ton of the first set photos.

We worked the stairwell we found in El Cortez and luckily for us security didn’t stop us from taking any photos and then went back outside for some more photos, which again turned out great.  It’s always easy to get great photos when your subject is very good looking.  Overall for her first time, she did outstanding and we got some great images!  I’ll add them as I finish editing them below.  We’re tentatively scheduled to shoot @ Calico Basin early this week and those will be added below as well when they are taken/edited.  Enjoy the photos :)

A Very Busy Last Week

Last week was a really really busy week for me.  Had two extra pups in the house, had to cover and shoot Miss and Mr Little Nevada while Toddlers and Tiaras from TLC was filming, then of course AVN was in town this past weekend and shot the awards show and then did two private shoots with some female adult actresses.  Oh and I took photos of burgers and other entree’s at a new food joint.  It’s funny because all the images I took for all the events are not “postable”, meaning I do not have permission to post the items.  But they eventually will be posted by various venues and I definitely got paid!

What else?  Oh I added live video to RuffHousingLV.com, so now when I’m anywhere with dogs I’m taking care of, I can send the owner a live video feed if they want me to :)   That’s pretty cool, I think.

The video below is just a BTS clip @ the Miss and Mr Little Nevada where for some reason, a shirtless man was walking around, LOL!

Denied by Facebook, LOL!

I just started my business page back up for my photography business on Facebook.  I had taken it down a year ago because I was actually thinking of moving into a different field, but instead decided to tackle both fields.

Thought I would drive some traffic to it by advertising, but I guess the monitors at Facebook thought the current images I have up are too pornographic and sent me the below rejection email, LOL!

I suppose the girls I do take photos of could wear just a tiny bit more clothing :)

Tony Foxx

Tony Foxx is a parrot on a Pirate Ship, I mean he plays one at the Treasure Island boat show right outside of the hotel here in Vegas.  I have never seen a parrot as cut as he is though, LOL.  That long legged chick that’s holding the light above his head is literally twice as tall as he is, and her name is Sara Gayoso.  I like taking photos of her more than Tony but it was Tony’s time.

This will be my first posting for 2013.  As much as I like Tony, I’d rather be shooting models that look like Sara more than him.  Have a wonderful 2013 everyone!  Be safe and happy!

Megan Cousins

Back in the day, it was much easier to keep my web site up to date, but lately I’ve been traveling to LA for family, weddings, engagements and models to shoot I haven’t had time. I actually couldn’t remember when I did this set with Megan, but I just happen to say the date on the BTS Video seen below (November 12, 2012). I’m still not done with the images so hopefully early next year I’ll get them all done. Enjoy and hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday!

Belen Uriate

Since I haven’t really done any high class fashion photography since I was back in DC/NYC, I did a quick set with Belen Uriate.  I had worked with Belen two other times prior and she always looked amazing and today was no different.  What’s funny about this session is that I literally had to trick her to do the shoot by saying I was moving away, and it worked!

There were two other sets to this photography session, but again it’s the holidays and I’m trying to catch up so those images will be up later this year or early next year.

Sara Gayoso

Sara definitely is one of the nicest models I’ve had the pleasure to work with in 2012.  The first time we worked together was somewhat awkward.  We were in a semi secluded location and I could tell she felt uncomfortable being there just with me.  Luckily for us as night fell, a biker gang arrived and I told her that if they attacked us, I knew I ran faster than her and that she was on her own :D

Have gotten to know her a little bit since then and she is fabulous!  Hopefully will get to work with her in 2013!  Enjoy the images and video found on this page :)

Victoria Crain

I don’t know exactly how I became friends with Victoria on Facebook but somehow I started a conversation with her about doing a photo shoot with her family and it turned into a model portfolio development shoot instead which was perfectly fine by me.

On October 28, she and her friend Vanessa arrived at my condo/home studio to do a session.  When she got out of her car, I could not believe she had three kids!  I mean there was this girl that weighed less than 100lbs.  I guessed 95lbs and she stated she was actually 98lbs.

She admitted to me that this was her first photo shoot, but nevertheless she did very well.  Hoping to work with her again in the future.

Magazine Submission Set with Maribel Valencia

On October 10th, Maribel Valencia stopped by to do a photo session for a magazine submission.  Unfortunately for those of you reading this, most of the images that were taken during the session are not available to the general public because the magazine doesn’t want images floating around the internet before they get printed in the magazine.

I was able to get Maribel to bring some other outfits so that we could post some up now :)  So here they are.  Hope you all like the photos and I’ll be sure to update you when/where she will be featured when the time comes!  Happy Halloween everyone!

Photo Shoot with Anayeli De Santiago

Anayeli De Santiago is a aspiring model, dancer and gymnast.  The funniest event that happened at our photo shoot though, was her standing behind a palm tree branch and just falling for no apparent reason :)  Great girl with a ton of potential.  Hope to work with her again.  Images from our shoot are below. :)
