Keith and Karina had their wedding at Rhodes Ranch Golf Course, a wonderful location for a wedding.  It was an intimate wedding…everyone seemed to know each other very well.  They had a cellist (Jeremy Russo) and violinist and their wedding officiant was Wanda Tracey who was absolutely great.  Justine Jackson who is the wedding consultant @ Rhodes Ranch Golf Course was very accommodating with any/all requests by the bride and groom.  Throughout the day, the wind was a major concern and also because of cloudy skies, I thought it may be one of the two days it rains here in Vegas, but luckily it did not.

Photos will be added as they are completed. Enjoy and congratulations to both Keith and Karina!

Matt & Brenda – March 23, 2013 from Michael Perez on Vimeo.

Matt and Brenda got married @ A Special Memory Chapel. I didn’t do the photography during their ceremony inside the chapel as the chapel wouldn’t allow it, but I did get to do some after wedding photos around the chapel and then got more photographs during their reception.

Matt at the time was scheduled to be shipped out 2 weeks after their wedding. The speeches given were during their reception were extremely emotional and had many people in tears..even I almost started crying.

Wish both of them the best and hope Matt is safe where-ever he’s stationed. An amazing couple, I wish I had a little more time with them so I could’ve gotten more than just candids.

Valrhona held a great mixer last night @ the Hospitality Suite @ Mandalay Bay.  The room was on the 60th floor and it was all decked out.  Valrhona also decked out the room with these discs of their chocolates all over the room and I couldn’t stop eating them!  Valrhona is a french company that makes chocolate for use in pastries, and most of the pastry chefs from Las Vegas attended the event I covered last night.

Once pastry chef was Natalie, who I did engagement photos for.  That was kinda funny.  So here are some of the photos from the event.  Briana and Evan who hosted the event for Valrhona were absolutely great people to work for.  :)  Check them out on their website @ Valrhona-Chocolate.com.

Oh, one thing to note on the photos.  The guy dressed up in a tuxedo is actually a party crasher :)

Man do I miss watching lacrosse!  Growing up in Maryland, I was in the hot-bed of Lacrosse country and got to watch the Terps play, as well as several John Hopkins games each year.  Here in Vegas, not so much lacrosse, but from what I hear from Sharon and Corrine Gross, it’s steadily growing, and the fact that they hosted a tournament (it was huge!) here I guess proves them right.  The only person I knew that was playing was Corrine, so most of the photos are of her but she is also the best player on her team.  I hope no one who plays on the team reads this, I just have watch lacrosse for 20-30 years and can tell who has talent and who doesn’t.  It’s not to say the other players on her team don’t have talent.  I’ll just stop right here and say enjoy the photos below:

Here’s something funny. I ordered the trial version ($10.00) of Pimsleur Approach‘s Spanish to find out the difference between it and Rosetta Stone. When I got it, it was just repeating audio from a CD so I just decided to cancel it since there were so many options like this for free on the web. I wrote them an email at their customer service email and they said (of course) that they are not able to cancel an account via email and that I would have to call their customer service department in order to cancel it.

Called their customer service number @ 1-866-204-7139 and I knew I would have to listen to the rep try to sell me on why Pimsleur was better for an additional $64 a month for three additional months. I sat patiently and listened to his sales pitch and in the end informed him that I had Rosetta Stone and didn’t need to pay an additional $64 for something I wasn’t really going to use too much. His response in a rude tone was “Well, then you’re only going to be able to speak broken Spanish!”, to which I replied, “May you tell me how you say that last sentence you just said in Spanish?”. To which he responded “I’m not trying to learn Spanish sir, you are!”, which was fine but I nailed him.

Funny how he can tell me I’ll be speaking broken Spanish when he can’t even say that one simple sentence in Spanish…ok, neither can I but still, LOL! I don’t really know if Pimsleur Approach is good or not, I just know they have at least one really sucky customer service rep.

MichaelMPerez.com - PimsleurApproach.com Customer Service Review

Last week was a really really busy week for me.  Had two extra pups in the house, had to cover and shoot Miss and Mr Little Nevada while Toddlers and Tiaras from TLC was filming, then of course AVN was in town this past weekend and shot the awards show and then did two private shoots with some female adult actresses.  Oh and I took photos of burgers and other entree’s at a new food joint.  It’s funny because all the images I took for all the events are not “postable”, meaning I do not have permission to post the items.  But they eventually will be posted by various venues and I definitely got paid!

What else?  Oh I added live video to RuffHousingLV.com, so now when I’m anywhere with dogs I’m taking care of, I can send the owner a live video feed if they want me to :)   That’s pretty cool, I think.

The video below is just a BTS clip @ the Miss and Mr Little Nevada where for some reason, a shirtless man was walking around, LOL!

Ok, time to edit a ton more photos.  Have a great week everyone!

We have Bella staying with us tonight.  Her family dropped her off about an hour and a half before the Redskins played the Cowboys for the NFC Championship ’12.  Took her for a walk with Jovi and Chauncy, when we got back to my place, she seemed a little timid which is normal.  Within a half hour, she’s running around chasing Chauncy, LOL!  Then all three of them spent time on the chaise lounge barking at people/dogs walking by.

She sat with us on the bed through-out the entire game (we took a short walk during halftime), and I think I may have scared her a little when I screamed as Rob Jackson intercepted Tony Romo’s pass when Dallas was driving down the field hoping to take the lead with less than 3 minutes left.

Anycase, overall she seems to be enjoying her stay here, and she makes a wonderful model, not at all shy!

Don’t forget, if you’re from Las Vegas and need someone to take care of your furry friend during the day while you’re at work, or if you’re going on vacation and need overnight or multiply day/night care for your pup, or if you’re coming to Vegas and want someone to take care of your doggie, check us out at Ruff Housing Doggie Day and Overnight Care and get $10 off your first booking with us by using promo code: RUFFHOUSING

So I had a little free time today and decided I would annihilate both my dogs on video!  It’s always great to have them around but especially when I want to blow stuff up! Neither one of them were actually hurt making these videos, if anything they got treats for just sitting where they normally sit.  These are actual videos.  Jovi video looks like I just took a photo of him and then layered the destruction on top but he always sits still when I have a camera pointing at him.  I think he thinks I’m a bear, and if he doesn’t move, I won’t know he’s there.  You can see Chauncy’s head moving in his video, but he sits still too when I have a camera pointed at him.

Took about 30 seconds total. Happy holidays everyone!

Belen Uriate

[Date of Actual Photo Session - November 14, 2012]

Since I haven’t really done any high class fashion photography since I was back in DC/NYC, I did a quick set with Belen Uriate.  I had worked with Belen two other times prior and she always looked amazing and today was no different.  What’s funny about this session is that I literally had to trick her to do the shoot by saying I was moving away, and it worked!

There were two other sets to this photography session, but again it’s the holidays and I’m trying to catch up so those images will be up later this year or early next year.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday season!

I don’t know exactly how I became friends with Victoria on Facebook but somehow I started a conversation with her about doing a photo shoot with her family and it turned into a model portfolio development shoot instead which was perfectly fine by me.

On October 28, she and her friend Vanessa arrived at my condo/home studio to do a session.  When she got out of her car, I could not believe she had three kids!  I mean there was this girl that weighed less than 100lbs.  I guessed 95lbs and she stated she was actually 98lbs.

She admitted to me that this was her first photo shoot, but nevertheless she did very well.  Hoping to work with her again in the future.

On the 18th of this month (October 2012), I scheduled to do a couples shoot with Angela Wyman and Steve Moorman.  Angela is an actress, singer and dancer that can be seen on advertising for Gold Gate Casino in downtown Las Vegas.  Steve is a professional poker player who’s the tallest person I’ve met thus far here in Vegas.  Due to the sun setting way earlier than I thought, most of the images we got were in the evening though they were great nontheless!

The setting we ended up choosing was the Smith Center of the Performing Arts, which is located in downtown Las Vegas as well.  Unfortunately the evening we did the session, they were having an event in the little cubby hole @ the center of the Smith Center where I really wanted to photograph the two of them.  We ended up getting images around the facility which is very nice as well, then ended our session in front of the Gold Gate Casino.

Extremely nice couple :)  Hope you all like the photos!
